There are so many wildlife safaris in India that it is difficult for an enthusiast to choose. In the west you have the deserts of Gujarat and the forests in Madhya Pradesh which abound in tigers and in the jungles of Kerala you can catch sight of the majestic elephants. Most hotels have their own guides who will take the guests on a safari or they will tie up with good tour operators. One could choose to stay in rustic tents in camps or in air conditioned rooms, all of which are normally a few miles away from the park. There are many tour to Bandhavgarh, known for the highest population of tigers in India.
You can see the tigers up close while riding on an elephant or jeep in Bandhavgarh. There are plenty of resorts, standard to high end ones to choose from. Another dream destination for a photographer or wildlife enthusiast is a trip to the Ranthambore National Park. With very good transport facilities in the park and accommodation too, it is very convenient for tourists. Many tour operators organised safaris in Ranthambore .Some operators also combine visits to nearby cities and towns like Jaipur, Agra and Delhi.
